Let me start saying I’m a third-year mech. engineering student using the Surface to take notes since my second semester of the first year at college. My entire career is in my One Note files. The good thing about the case: the design is very strong, beautiful, very fashionable, very CEO of a big company. This would be the perfect case for an executive or any office job with a big and nice desktop with big space, which is precisely the one thing we don’t have in the classroom. From my student point of view these are the defects I found that made me file a return for this case: 1. when you fold the tablet to put it flat as a notebook the keyboard automatically unplug itself and stays there in the middle without any reason or any kind of support. The moment you forget it’ll go to the floor. Some people might say well you can turn aside the tablet to take notes so the keyboard won’t get loose , so I’ll remember to those: not all the classrooms writing pad chairs have enough space to do that. 2. The “leather” of the caser is so thick that that once you managed to start taking notes you’ll have to rest very often because the posture of your hand while taking the notes will be non-ergonomic at all. 3. The case is so thick and rigid that even dealing with the stand to choose the inclination of the display is very awkward. 4. Since the keyboard is automatically detached from the tablet once you started writing, if suddenly you need to type something quick in the middle of a class you won’t be able to do so because you’ll waste time selecting dealing with the inclination and connecting the keyboard again. If you have an office job, please consider it because the case is nice.
