I installed this lock on August 15th, after a week of functioning correctly, the lock/unlock functions suddenly started reversing themselves at random. The door would start unlocking itself in the middle of the night, it would constantly say "Secure lock on. Secure lock off. Secure lock on" at 2am. the only thing that fixed it would be to remove the batteries, completely reset the lock and then set it up again, but then it would do the same thing after a few days. Additional cons to this lock: -Installing it requires you to drill a small hole in the door, basically ruining the door if you ever remove the lock to return it. -The keys for the lock are not USA standard house keys and you will not be able to make copies or rekey the lock. -It requires a separate gateway to connect to your wifi; but even when connected with the gateway, alot of functions require your phone to be connected via bluetooth, which you must be within 2 feet of the outside panel to connect. -The reset buttons are located inside the lock and can only be accessed by removing it completely from the door, which is a real pain in the butt when you find out you have to reset it manually and enter a access code to be able to connect to it with your phone the first time. -4 AA batteries only last about a week. Fully charged batteries only show at 30% power when you first put them in and then drain quickly. ive been using rechargeable AAs and have had to swap them out and recharge them 4 times in the 3 weeks ive had the lock installed. - The app is clunky and very obviously not designed by anyone in the USA Ill also give the pros to be fair: - The fingerprint scan responds quickly Thats about it. This lock might be good for an internal door if you want to keep your kids out of a specific room and you can find it for half the price, but i do not recommend getting it for an external door.
