FAKE, FAKE, FAKE
Beware. If buying this cable, it is a fake. The first one I received looked great. It fooled me to thinking it was real. But then I noticed a few discrepancies, like the logo at the input jack was crooked. Furthermore, the up volume didn't work, the center button stuck, and the sound was crackling.
I contacted the seller. At first he told me he wanted the cable back, and then changed his mind and told me to keep it. That should have been a warning, but thinking he didn't want a faulty product back, I didn't really think twice about it. I did, however, ask if it was real. He told me that he bought them from a Monster Retailer.
Today, I received my replacement. It's worse than the first. The control is an OBVIOUS fake, the color and texture of the cable is off, the sheath is falling apart at the input jacks, and the rubber at the jacks are cut improperly.
If these were marketed as being reproductions, or aftermarket that LOOKED like the ControlTalk cable, I would be able to accept this. But he is selling these are real replacements, and at quite a fee for the product. These should be $2, at most.
These cables are extremely hard to find. Be skeptical of anything like this that you find. I should have known better, but in thinking that there was a higher standard on Amazon, I was fooled.
