★☆☆☆☆
At worst, a scam. At best, a Chinese company misrepresenting itself as an American business. I wish Amazon was more diligent.
I'm a bit skeptical of this company. First, the website is poorly designed. That's not a deal breaker, but there were other red flags for me. Like the fact that it says it is made in New York, and gives a NY address. However, upon google mapping the address, it seems to be a fake, leading me to the middle of a road with the nearby buildings all accounted for within the adjacent shopping mall. Another red flag was when I had stumbled into the subscription purchase of this product, it was "NewRhythm" that was the seller, but a "Shenzhen Qingyun Shjengwubaojian Keji Co. LTD" and fulfilled by Amazon. A google search does not turn this company up. But I would encourage anybody reading this to take a look at their website and see the authenticity (or lack thereof) for yourself. Further, while they claim to be NSF certified, a simple search in the NSF database returned 0 results for "NewRhythm" or any variation of their name. It very well may be that they have a different manufacturing name than the one they've given publicly, which would explain why I got 0 results. Or they could be misrepresenting themselves which would ultimately lead to an investigation by the NSF of the manufacturer's claim. As far as the supplement itself -- I bit one open. It tastes like a fishy, oily, substance so at least there's that... The coating is thick, which is presumably why it prevents fish burps. However, because of the lack of transparency I am finding with this company, I don't know what to think about the supposed "pharma grade potency" it advertises. With these small, thick coated capsules, am I to believe that they are reliably composed of 625mg of oil with their respective fatty acid breakdowns? I don't want to even think about the possibility that it's artificially colored... I really hope I am wrong about all of this really. Let's face it, as a consumer I don't have the time, money, or capabilities to test the quality of the supplements in a lab myself. This is why 3rd party testing is important and why transparency on the part of the manufacturer is essential. All I can do is my due diligence and research the best I can into the available resources, which in this case seem to be very little. Until the points I raised are either clarified upon or debunked, I would encourage consumers to remain wary purchasing this "Amazon's Choice" product.
