Sad Hair Days
I'm sad to say these rollers are about to be headed back to amazon. Let me start by saying my hair is naturally wavy and typically holds a curl for literally days. Especially when I've used hot rollers in the past. When my old-style/old school rollers died (not longer heated up when plugged in) I thought these would be the closest thing - I can't find the old style anymore, anywhere. Conair is a reliable company, but I've used these three times now, without success. First time, I thought, well...maybe my hair wasn't all the way dry, so that's why it didn't hold the curl. Second time, my hair for sure was dry, and I used "hold the curl" hair product before curling, and hairspray after taking out the rollers...flat within the hour. Third time...maybe it's because my hair could've used a wash. Result: flat and FRIZZY! Also, I was not expecting spiral curls. I purposely bought these because they should be producing looser/beachy waves due to the size of the barrel(s). So it wasn't like I was thinking I'd get Shirley Temple springs on my head and then got loose curls. I got nothing. I even questioned my health...like, am I getting sick? Is my hair totally fried? It's not. I'm good. I'm super confused, because as I mentioned, my hair holds a curl in any weather, and can easily be refreshed for a few days after the initial curling (out late drinking, sleeping on it, ponytail, etc. you name it, my hair rocks). I'm super bummed out. Rollers were my lazy morning go-to. Now I'm stuck with the messy bun until I can find a replacement that works. I guess I should mention that they DO heat up quickly, and they are hot. So, it may be that my hair just doesn't like them. Or maybe it's too long. I dunno?
