I gave this as a gift to a friend who has been using this for 2-3 months a couple of times a week. Today at work, her crock pot sparked and when she turned it over she noticed that the unit was over heating, causing it to burn . This was incredibly disappointing and a HUGE safety concern. This unit was plugged in for less than two hours - If she were not at her desk at this time the crockpot could have caused a fire.
