Fast speeds, but after one year something major is always broken
It's been a year and I'm sorry to say I can't recommend these. The hardware is great and the setup is dead simple. It's just Netgear's software development is just terrible. Consumer-grade stuff like this supposed to have few features and high stability, but this is few features and no stability.
--- Update after 18 months: Nothing has changed, you will frequently experience random connectivity loss ---
After working with Netgear for the past 6 months and 8 firmware updates, YOU MUST AVOID THIS PRODUCT IF YOU WANT STABILITY.
If you already own this product, and cannot return it, please complain at the BBB:

When using the Orbi system, you will notice devices will seemingly disconnect at random. Usually for short durations of time (a minute or two) and sometimes the connectivity loss is only partial (say you can't share files with a specific user, or your IM disconnects).
Restarting any Orbi Satellite or changing the MAC address on the device having trouble will always fix the issue. Why? Because the "backhaul" (or WDS) system on the Orbi is littered with bugs. A few times of a day, one or more of your devices (typically the active ones) will lose connectivity due to their layer-2 backhaul system just not working properly.
There are many reports to Orbi about connectivity problems, and Netgear has successfully confused the issue with "just needing to restart" or some vague recommendation to reset the firmware. Of course, the issue shows up again and again.
GET A DIFFERENT PRODUCT. The Orbi is faster than the competitors, but that doesn't matter when your connectivity drops all the time.
