As far as bleach goes this works like regular bleach, except the smell is more overwhelming than regular bleach. However, here is the reason I gave this product one star. I have an HE washer and used the crystals as directed on a load of whites. Over the next couple of washes I pulled out clothes from a load of darks and a load of whites that had huge bleach spots on them. All in all about 8 pieces of clothing were ruined. There must have been crystals in the washing machine that got lodged in somewhere and did not dissolve during the load of whites, but dissolved in the next two loads. I threw away the remainder of the bottle and will not be buying this product again.
