I - just - don't - get it.
I just read the article from Home Cinema Choice's website regarding the technical aspects of this release, and all I can say is- what a TRAGEDY it is that they have decided to crop the video. Furthermore, the decision to do this was based on false logic and fallacious arguments. It's as if those who had the power to make this decision are less informed than the serious home viewer. Somewhere, sitting behind a desk, there is an uninformed idiot that should be fired. I'm really surprised that some type of "Historical Film Committee" or The Smithsonian Institute didn't step in and stop this. Seriously. Fremantle butchered this important historical film document. 25% of the video frame has been recklessly discarded. For their gross negligence, this product and any other product by Fremantle Media should be boycotted. All that extensive effort to do such a wonderful restoration, and then they go ahead and release it with a portion of the video information intentionally cropped off. I just don't get it. The public needs to vigorously oppose and boycott these types of reckless decisions that lead to the deterioration of the records of historical art and film. Because I have been waiting patiently for a "definitive version" of this important historical classic, I would have paid ANY amount for this Blu ray release. No longer interested. Tragic. `
