Tastes like detritus from the floor of an auto mechanic, and it made us sick.
It's Delish company, for some reason, is not reviewable by actual order. I don't understand this.
The reviews I see listed under the red and green peppers mix are actually for other items rather than the peppers. (The wording seems oddly similar in the positive reviews.)
I bought the 10 lbs size on Dec. 9, 2017 (I could swear it was Prime), the transfer of funds occurred on Dec 11, 2017, and, after many notes of excuse, the box arrived last week. The box was far too small for the two plastic bags inside (5 lbs each, apparently) and someone had merely taped the open top of the box to the bags inside. The bags and contents were visible without opening the little box.
I have used dried bell peppers in my cooking in the past, although from other companies. These peppers from It's Delish were all brownish-black with lighter colored seeds. I tried cooking with them without water hydration by making a meatloaf mix that I kept in the refrigerator for a day before baking. Very bad, no colors visible except the seeds. The I tried rehydrating for a couple of hours before using in my chicken stew recipe. Black clumps throughout my stew, some pale seeds and hard pieces that hurt our mouths and teeth--I presume stems or some other detritus from the processing area. The taste is not of bell peppers, although it does taste somewhat vegetative, and there are no colors except brownish-black and the pale seeds. I actually used this product one more time in my chili con carne recipe. Horrible! My husband and I and my in-laws have been sick since then with what seems something like dysentery.
For some reason Amazon forbids me to review the actual order or to try to get a refund. $80 is too much for us to forget about, and I don't want other potential consumers to become ill as we did.
