I hate writing critical reviews, but I'd rather post an honest review so that others can make an informed decision. This product had a myriad of great reviews so I decided to try it out. Upon opening the box the first thing I noticed was that the fabric used to cover the tree is very low quality - It reminds me of the material used to make stuffed animals. It's very soft and feels very thin. The second thing I noticed is that the the little "cubby" on the 2nd platform is VERY small. I truly believe that only a kitten or very very small car would be able to use this. During assembly, I noticed that the screws/bolts were never able to get actually tight - they seemed to just keep spinning, and never get snug. Due to this, when my cat is on one top platforms it is. Very wobbly and unstable. Despite my initial thoughts, we decided to keep it for a week or two since it was already put together. We quickly found that the material used to cover it began to shed and leave little brown fuzzies everywhere! I was a little disappointed with this item, and will continue my search for a cat tree.
