Only gets to 100 degrees, customer service was poor.
I was very excited to try this out, talking about all week waiting for it to get delivered. Once it's here I set it up, it's all very cute, plug it in and wait for the green light. It's on! I spray an area that has some dirt on the gel coat of my boat and it's barely going off...oh no! I get out my meat thermometer and test it, it's only reaching 140 degrees. Ok so that explains why it's not working. I email the company and say that I have a faulty unit and try to see if there is something to be done. I'm told very condescendingly that it's because I'm using my meat thermometer. Ok sure it could be off a bit but it's pretty easy to cover the entire spear of the thermometer with the steam, but this is only half of the promised heat. I was told that since the thermometer wasn't their special thermometer that any numbers I get don't matter and are just wrong. The service rep then went on to "test" a neat they had with them while we were on the phone to somehow prove to me that the unit I had wasn't faulty, but in fact it was my thermometer (no matter that they weren't testing my suspect unit, and no matter that I could see nothing and be proven nothing over the phone). I today thought I'd try it one more time before sending it back (with no offer to replace it only to return, since my unit was obviously working correctly according to the service representative) and I was going to try a clean window that had streaks, again something easy to test it out. It sputtered at first which was to be expected, but I continued to as I held the release for about 5 minutes and it was still spitting more water than steam. I went to get my thermometer again and tested it in the bathroom making sure that every bit of the thermometer spear was covered in the spitting steam and my thermometer only went up to 93 degrees, I then put my hand in the steam since I trusted my thermometer more than the service representative and the steam/spit was only a bit hot and I was able to hold my hand in the steam without getting hurt at all. I didn't quickly pass my hand but held it in, directly in front of the nozzle. I then did it again while my boyfriend recorded it, this time the temp went up to I think 97, but again I was able to hold my hand in it. Now either my machine is faulty and that service representative was wrong, or I'm a super human. I'm sending it back and going to get a vapor steamer from another company, I thought the reviews were amazing for this and the price was too good to be true.. well guess what. It is.
