Minion Run WAS a great game. My favorite, but the 5 year birthday upgrade has been a major downgrade. Many characters that were highly promoted for extra lives, costing "real money" at times no longer have This option. This costume characteristic is now completely missing after the birthday conversion. Other dual characteristics also are missing (a costume that could give you extra jumps and unders, for example) Other games I play have had 5 year upgtades and the players retain their progress but had opportunities to make major Gaines during the celebration. This is the 1st game my family & I played where we have lost items we purchased during a "celebration" and lost progress we have made. I paid for an indestructible shield $4.99 I believe, where is that? Nothing more frustrating than being downgraded to a shield that disappeared when it is hit once when I PAID for one that can last thru multiple hits. Also, I earned it lasting longer than a few seconds, but the celebration has erased all my progress for time for power ups. What is the point of investing time and money in a game, that requires both to progress, only to learn that a high percentage of one's progress can just be taken away? I had 5 million bananas but only got 1500 banana coins in the conversion, as if this was equitable, yet there are characters that cost 75,000 banana coins. I had to buy back characters I earned or already owned for 1 banana coin, again, some of these characters I paid for and they weren't automatically given to me. I had a decent amount of blueprints which translated into cards, but again, I do not feel my bananas converted high enough for me to maximize upgrades on the characters I had fully upgraded before. I had costumes that have extra time on ALL powerups... One I had to buy for this power, but the conversion gave this costume a basic power up only. No costumes seem to have this extra time ability. None have extra lives, not only did I buy one for that power, I earned more than one with that power and another power. Cleopatra had both am extra life and I maxed out her upgrade so she earned 300% bananas. I also had costumes with 2 extra lives, extra near miss, extra punch, extra jumps and going under things, plus some of those also could be maxed to have an extra life. When promoting these power ups so heavily, that players play extra games, invest in coins for buying upgrades, and even buy characters, the develops can't just then take all those options away and call it an upgrade. Do they not play their own game at all? They Basically wiped everyone back to start, making each player earn or banana buy back downgraded costumes they have already earned or bought, but aside from getting the same costumes, everyone has a reset of the entire game. Think we forget when we upgraded powers that no longer are upgraded? Did they think giving single powers over and over and over to costumes is an improvement to the various powers the same costumes had before? Did they think players would not be mad when they had maxed out a costumes power to have to start over with an inferior costume? Basically, I have the costumes I earned before, but not the same powers that came with those costumes, which was a major reason why I invested in the specific costumes I had. Some of them were fully upgraded, none of them converted that way. I have invested enough real money in this game to never want to spend another dime on it now that I know nothing protects what I have invested in long term. Either credit consumers for the things that no longer exist, like the indestructible sheild, and costs to upgrade how long a person upgraded it to run for, as well as money spent on costumes that no longer have free lives people have invested in costumes for, or bring those items back. The graphics upgrade is great. The rooms are different. I don't like them more or less than the old way of progress, but a new player coming to this game won't know any differently. But all new players should be worned, be prepared to invest time and money to progress in this game and the developers decide to change things again, you will simply lose your progress.
