★★☆☆☆
Bad for swimming but good for everything else.
I bought this monitor for swimming. I have the H7 as well but it's not waterproof. This HR monitor is good because it's ANT+ and BlueTooth. So I like that about this HR monitor. But if you are using it for swimming, it's just not accurate. I've tried wearing it different ways other than what Polar suggest. My body habitus is athletic build and maybe because of that it loses contact with my skin when my muscles contract. I have no idea why it loses my heart rate. I have wore a trisuit with this HR monitor as to compress the HR monitor to my chest to maintain contact at all times.... with no luck. It always seems to lose my heart rate during the swim somehow. So besides that I would give it a better rating but the sole reason I purchased this was for swimming. I will say that it did better than the Garmin Tri which was made for swimming as well. This HR monitor has no problems with keeping the battery dry and it is a lot easier to change the battery than the Garmin Tri HR monitor, which takes screws. I hope swimmers out there have better luck with this HR monitor than I am having.
