Original 5 star, switched to a 1 star because I'm returning this as this is a dangerous product. I'm assuming the problem was the filter, but when I got this product I immediately washed all parts and followed the instructions on putting the filter in. They loved drinking out of it. My cats started having problems a couple weeks after we gave them this water bowl (Widely blown pupils that don't react to light the primary one). When I finally realized how bad it was and how it was affecting BOTH my cats, I stopped using the water fountain immediately and switched to a normal bowl. I took my cats to the vet and spent $600 doing every freaking test I could to learn they're completely healthy otherwise and if it was any sort of heavy metal poisoning it wouldn't come up on a report. After switching back to just a bowl, their symptoms are starting to reduce. If they have any long term damage, I'm probably going to sue I'm so mad. Don't buy this cheap knockoff, go to Chewy or Petsmart or somewhere else, or skip the filter.
