Purchased this cable to replace a worn out one that came with my Kindle fire. It looked good when I received it. Plugged it in and the Kindle showed it was charging fine. The next morning I simply unplugged it to have the outer metal remain in the kindle and a bunch a little prongs dangling from the end of the cable. I did not bother to report it - not worth the hassle. I just went and purchased a local replacement.
