I don't often write reviews, but I didn't see too many long term reviews and felt I should share based on a few months of ownership. This fan was great at first--quiet, good output, and easy to use. Assembly took about 3 minutes with only a screwdriver.
The problems started after about 45 days of use. We run the fan at night, I started to wake up to a light grinding sound while the fan was rotating. This hot progressively worse and now is extremely loud when rotating.
Fine, I thought, I don't want to go through the hassle of returning it, so we left it stationary. After about 2 weeks, it started to make an extremely unpleasant buzzing sound, which would go away for short periods before returning.
About a week ago, it started to turn so slowly it was no longer putting out air--maybe one revolution every 10 seconds. Changing the speed settings does nothing. After leaving it for about an hour, it starts to speed up to normal, but then slows down again. It is essentially non functional at this point.
I have kept up with cleaning, and I made sure that I hadn't done anything wrong when I put it together. As far as I can determine, this is a much lower quality product than a basic box fan, of which I have two from a brick and mortar store that have lasted for years.
I called Honeywell customer service but was not offered any assistance. I would consider have considered changing my review if they had helped in literally any way, but at this time I cannot recommend this product at all.
EDIT: Honeywell customer service once again declined to offer any help. Maybe they will read this review?
