Poor performance and quality
I purchased this Hamilton Beach hand blender as a replacement for my 200 watt Braun whose motor died suddenly after a few years of perfect use. The Hamilton Beach does a poor job of pureeing soups, which is my main use for it. While the Braun easily pureed an entire pot of lentil soup in mere seconds, the Hamilton Beach leaves chunks and takes several minutes of pulsing to even remotely puree. Further, the chopping bowl attachment has begun to leave bits of black plastic in the food that I chop. I can't even chop an onion without little black plastic bits eroding away into my food. Poor quality and poor performance overall.
Due to my distaste for the Hamilton Beach blender, I purchased a GE hand blender at the same price point and there is a world of difference in the performance. I just pureed a large can of diced tomatoes in about 25 seconds - a task that the Hamilton Beach took a few minutes to accomplish. Avoid this junk and do some research on better quality hand blenders.
