Chemical sunscreen
I wish there had been a full ingredient list given here, as I would never have ordered this product. Also, the ingredient list on the box differs slightly from what I found on another website. These are the ingredients listed in full as per the box:
Water, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Glycerin, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Butylene Glycol, Zinc Oxide, Isoamyl P-Methoxycinnamate, Hexanediol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Polysorbate 20, Titanium Dioxide, Glyceryl Stearate, Peg-100 Stearate, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Vp Copolymer, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Potassum Hydroxide, Alumina, Aluminum Stearate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Carbomer, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Citrus Limon (Lomon) Fruit Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis(Orange) Oil, Cedrus Atlantica Wood Oil, Litsea Cubeba Fruit Oil, Xanthan Gum, Rosa Damascena Flower Extract, Lippia Citriodora Leaf Extract, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract, Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Extract, Angelica Archangelica Root Extract, Phyllanthus Emblica Fruit Extract, Honey Extract, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Artemisia Absinthium Extract, Achillea Millefolium Extract, Gentiana Lutea Root Extract, Rubus Idaeus(Raspberry) Fruit Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Beta-Glucan, Tocopheryl Acetate, Disodium Edta
What I found concerning, for me, was that this is almost a 100% chemical sunscreen, which I normally avoid. On top of this, the top listed chemical sunscreen is a known hormone-mimicking chemical that may accumulate and disrupt your system when used over a long period of time: Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (AKA Octyl methoxycinnamate, octinoxate) – Endocrine disruption, moderate hazard with cumulative effect (level 6 at EWG org)
Also, although I understand why oils are added to these products (to make them smell better), I do not understand why they use citric oils in sunscreens when these types of oils actually cause photo sensitivity and irritation. Basically, if you have sensitive acne-prone skin, this is a type of sunscreen you want to avoid.
