UPDATE 11/14/21: Ever since posting this review, I've been receiving multiple "bribe emails" on removing this 1-star review and refunding me starting from $20 with an increment of $5, to the highest they can offer, $50, and starting over from the bottom, which is $20 and repeating the ever spamming bribe emails from different GMail accounts. I had some fun whether they go over $50, but I will not remove my review nor do I ever plan on to. It is here to stay. If this review happened to be removed somehow then that would be amazon's doing. tl;dr: I've had more readjustments of the bed level and Z Offset than manual bed leveling. I'm a newbie to 3d printing, I became frustrated after much attempts on getting CRTouch working and decided to go back to doing manual bed leveling. This is how I became an expert in manual bed leveling from the amount of bed leveling I had to do. --- Some of the people out there may have successfully gotten their CRTouch working perfectly like a well oiled clog machine, while some don't. Unfortunately, I happen to be one of those people that couldn't get the CRTouch working perfectly. So, right out of the box, a manual, 3 different metal plates to hold the CRTouch (for different Ender 3 printers), 3 zip ties, the cable to connect the CRTouch to motherboard, 2 M3*8 and M3*6 screws, the CRTouch itself, and a card that asks the buyer to give this product a 5 star review, screenshot the review, send it off to their email, and free $25 amazon gift card. That's one hell of a way on buying reviews; almost too tempting but I resisted, simply look at the star I gave. Installation of the CRTouch was easy with the use of common sense, but the instructions on the manual was full of google's broken translations. I have a Ender 3 V2, simply power off the printer (and unplug the power cable for safe measures if you're paranoid), unplug the Z-Stopper (and remove it as an option), find the correct plate for the CRTouch, mount it on the header, wire the CRTouch to the motherboard, plug the power cable back to the printer, and bam you successfully installed CRTouch. Simple as 1, 2, 3. Now here comes the part where I have to flash the firmware. They direct you to their website to download the firmware for both the printer and CRTouch. However, the Ender 3 V2 comes in 2 different version of the motherboard, in which you don't get to choose on purchasing the printer (bought mine here on Amazon), 4.2.2, and 4.2.7; Which it doesn't says anywhere in the printer but on the motherboard itself, so good luck. Luckily for me, I already knew what version the motherboard was, that being 4.2.2. Having gone through some attempts on flashing the printer with the new firmware, it took me a bit to realize that BLTouch and CRTouch both uses the same firmware, I had expected Creality to have their own firmware for this, but apparently they don't. At the time of typing this review (7/14/21), the current firmware is "Ender-3 V2-Marlin-2.0.1-HW-4.2.2-mainboard-V1.1.2-Compatible with BLTouch and filament detection.zip" Threw the .bin file into the SD card (and make sure you have DWIN_SET folder copied from "Ender-3 v2 4.2.2mainboard(32bit).zip"), plugged into the printer, powered on, several seconds later the screen came to life with Creality logo displaying in all its glory. Now comes the fun part, setting the Z Offset. The manual was not meant for Ender 3 V2 users to follow, but for other Ender 3 printers which I presumably, the Ender 3 Pro; how? both printer have different user interface. I had to look up a video on setting the Z Offset, which was simply autohome, set the Z-Axis to 0, get a A4 paper and slap it onto the bed, adjust the Z Offset until you can feel some resistance from the nuzzle when moving the paper back and forth. Bam, setting the Z Offset, done. Then I had to go back to the main menu and select Level that probes the bed, in which I later learned and could be wrong, that it stores the mesh level values for prints; awesome! But what's not awesome was that I had to level the bed, and I didn't know I had to do that until much later. Here comes series of adjustments, but before I do so, I had to add a single GCODE line on my slicer (Cura), I had to add "G29 ; " under "G28 ; Home all blah blah blah" on my printer profile, use that profile, slice the print, and loaded onto the printer; nice. After starting up the printer and starting the print, it went through the GCODE script by first autohoming, and then probing the bed (caused by the G29 ; line). Once it was done probing the bed, it went ahead and started the print by doing the prime blob (the initial long line of wasted filament at the very left side of the bed), right off the bat I see a problem, the nuzzle was too low and was barely scrapping the bed; no problem, I readjusted the bed level to go lower just enough to see the filament coming out, but much later on the bed level was too low and the initial layer was not able to stick onto the bed; WELP, I went and cancelled the print, went through the entire process adjusting the Z Offset and the bed level again. Started the print again and the same problem occurred. This went on for some time which baffles me to no end since I was not able to have at least one successful print with the CRTouch. I looked online for tips and tutorials, adjusted the Z Offset and leveled the bed PERFECTLY, nuzzle too low. I don't know if it's either the firmware is wrong, a bug, etc., but it got to the point where I simply unplugged the CRTouch, remounted the Z Stopper, leveled the bed which took me no longer than 5 minutes, did a test print, goldilock. Nuzzle wasn't too low nor was it too high. It was perfect, and out came the filament like butter. So is the CRTouch worth it? In my opinion, no, but learning how to level a bed properly? Yes. I'm not going to stop you from being you; so good luck and enjoy having to get the damn thing working as it's intended purpose.
