The old saying goes, "you get what you pay for" and it could not be more true of this item. Normally I shy away from the cheap Chinese tools but I saw the favorable reviews for this and decided to give it a try. The positive things I can say are that the belt tensioning system holds the belts so they don't slip and the variable speed control gives a good range. Now for the not so good. There is no way to adjust how the belt runs. Right out of the box, it ran a bit to one side. After about 10-15 minutes of use, it got worse. So bad that the bearing on the end had part of its surface exposed. About that bearing--it is basically a roller skate bearing with poor sealing and it is riveted on. Replacement is going to be needed sooner rather than later and it will not be a fun job. But it might not even last that long. The motor cooling is really poor and the tool got very hot after the short use I gave it. The cord works but is of a very poor quality and by the stiffness, it might even be stranded aluminum and not copper. To top it off, the sanding belts have about a 1 cm area with no abrasive where they are glued together. If you are not picky, you don't plan to use this but very occasionally and the tool you receive will be built so that the belt runs true, you might find this OK. Otherwise, you will have to do what I did, buy a higher quality tool.
