This is a fine example of how the "big name" brand can not always be considered a "trusted" brand. The biggest annoyance was that the plastic lever that connects the two pole pieces was defective. I don't know if it came that way or if it happened during the first use, but either scenario is unacceptable. I had to scavenge on the beach for something to wedge into the connection so that it would stay up. It kept sliding anyway. Although the wind flap did a decent job of preventing a total blow-away, the whole umbrella was flapping in the breeze like crazy while my friends' umbrellas were not even moving. Every moving part felt like it was about to break. I don't want to worry about stuff like that when I'm on the beach. [edited to add a photo]
