Fake (but functional) item.
This item is a fake.
Here's why:
The memory card has Phillips head screws on the back. Nintendo does not use these in any of their products. Genuine Gamecube memory cards use tri-wing head screws.
When opened I found a simple board with a couple of flash chips under some black epoxy/resin. Nintendo does not use this black epoxy/resin on their boards.
The board also is missing any printing of "Nintendo" on it.
Edit: This card has been working just fine for over a year now. So if you, like me, just want a card that is functional, then I think this is a safe bet. I was confident this was a fake card when I ordered it, but I really didn't care since I just needed a card that worked. The review will stay at a 1 star since it is packaged and listed deceptively. If you are here because you want a genuine GameCube card, then you should look elsewhere. If you just want a functional card, then go ahead and order. Just be sure you order from a well reviewed seller. Some of these seem to be better than others.
