Out of the box, this product is simple to assemble and you can go right to work. But, that's where the good stuff stops.I typically don't complain about products, but the immediate disfunctionality of produce deserves a warning to others. I hadn't used the product for ten minutes when the first element broke--small, red, square plastic bushing/piece of trim surrounding the retractable power cord. Made of brittle plastic and poorly engineered to stay in place, the part broke after three attempts to reinsert it. After vacuuming one room and a hall I attempted to get the power cord to retract. It wouldn't. At $150 this product would have been overpriced for the quality of workmanship and design. At Amazon's discounted price (about 33 percent) one would have to say the same thing. Hoover damages their reputation with products like this. I've been a Hoover user for years. In fact the previous unit purchased ten years ago was the envy of the person who cleaned our home. He said he wished his other clients had such a unit. But alas, Hoover has made a trade off between price and quality. I could never recommend this product.
