Deceptive / Sleazy marketing maneuver
Other reviewers have done a fine job of describing how Minneapolis vendor Apothecary Products, Inc. substituted a cheap, very flimsy zip-lock bag for their fine 2-mil-thick pill pouches sold through 2010 or so through CVS pharmacies and elsewhere. My complaint is not the change in product--that is their choice--but rather that they kept the product name the same to ensnare unwary past buyers. But, as I set out above, 'nuff said. They should put "new, thinner formulation" or something like that on the package or call it something else. The good news is that there are plenty of fine 2-mil- and, even better, 4-mil-thick food-grade zip-lock bags of various sizes available on Amazon.com and all over the web. I just bought some for household, hobby and medication storage and the 4-mil bags are sturdy, inexpensive, recyclable, easy-to-handle, and a joy to use. I won't pimp the seller because that would be going too far--just search Amazon for "'4 mil' and 'bags'," watch out for Amazon's ridiculously faulty search engine, ignore the results that don't have "4 mil" and "zip" in the title, and you're good to go. Pricing varies a lot, so don't stop at the first one you find. Happy hunting! Goodbye Apothecary Products!!
