I was hopeful for these casters, but...
As I said, I was hopeful, but there is a big directional control issue. Anytime you change a chair caster, you face multiple concerns, such as friction on the floor surface, geometry and the caster angle, and construction material. The construction material seems to be ok, and I understand the attempt to create a low profile caster, as opposed to using an actual "rollerblade" wheel. With all, the geometry is super important. in addition to this, the friction and "slide" capability is also important. With these wheels, when changing directions, such as pushing back from your desk, there is a forced sideways move that is very pronounced. This exists with other wheels as well, but with standard wheels, and since they are plastic and slip across the surface (scratching hardwood), the sideways move is far less pronounced. With a "rollerblade" wheel, it is a little less than with these wheels since there is a single contact patch (these wheels have two contact patches). I wish someone would create a soft wheel based on a smaller diameter wheel. I'm not returning these, but I will probably change them out for my rollerblade wheels. For the manufacturer, good attempt! Try to go with a smaller single wheel.
