You get what you pay for. I was looking for a low cost sealer (this one was $29.88 at the time) and I bought this one based off of the numerous positive reviews on Amazon. I got my unit yesterday and used it to vacuum pack some kale and tomatoes that I had just harvested(yes, the tomatoes were frozen first and were as hard as billiard balls prior to vacuum sealing). Instructions were super easy as was using the machine. If you had asked me yesterday, I would have given it 5 stars. Unfortunately, I opened the freezer this morning and all the bags had air in them. :( If it was one or two bags, I would have suspected a defective bag. In my case, all twelve bags had air in them leading me to conclude that the machine does not create a very robust seal. Someone on here mentioned that you should do two seals at both ends of the bag. I will give this a try and perhaps it will improve things, but the instructions don't suggest the need to double seal each end. So while there may be a workaround to improve the performance of the product, it is clearly not working as intended.
