The term "Certified Refurbished" should not be open to interpretation. Amazon plainly states that refurbished electronics should be reconditioned to look and function like new. At BEST, my laptop might qualify for the USED --Upgraded category. It seemed to have had a new hard drive and extra ram installed. And yes, it included Windows 10. But a few hardware upgrades do not count towards Amazon's clear definition of "refurbished." My computer arrived with serious cosmetic flaws. The unit had clearly been dropped at some point, as the scuff marks and dented casing were obvious on one corner, and loads of other scrapes and scuffs all around. Instead of being in "like new" condition, the computer looks like it was on loan from someone's little brother. The screen wobbled like the hinge mounting screws were loose, and the LCD itself had numerous dead pixels. The keyboard looked fine at first, but once I started typing, a sticky film appeared that I had to scrape off key-by-key because my fingers were sticking to the keys. Who knows what that stuff was! Worst of all was the battery. At the very least I'd expect a refurbished laptop to come with a brand new battery. However, I noticed almost immediately that the battery drained quickly. After running the configsys battery report, I discovered that this battery was already down to 50% of its capacity, meaning that a full charge lasted only half as long as it should and that the battery was well on its way to being spent. This was the deal breaker. It is completely unacceptable that a product advertised as "certified refurbished" be shipped in such poor condition. I've reached out to the seller, Blazing Prices, for an explanation, but have not received a response. (Funny, since they seemed all too anxious to secure a five star review BEFORE I made my objections.) I will be returning for a refund. I strongly advise against purchasing this computer from this seller.
