expensive and defective!!!!!!
I was on the fence on this purchase because of mixed reviews. I decided to purchase since I’m pretty capable with electronics/technology as well as crafting of all sorts.
I had a ton of project ideas before I had even received the cricut maker. Needless to say, I was super excited when it arrived.
Shipping was fast, great. Packaging was top notch. It was shipped in a box, inside a box, inside another box, inside an even bigger box.
The unboxing and set up was uneventful.
I was attempting to pair the cricut maker with my iPad and that is where the problems began. The maker would disconnect from my iPad while going through the set up and the app that was downloaded was freezing up. I had to log out and in several times. Although the set up was rather rough, I kept my spirts up and continued on to making the project included with the maker. Again there were problems. The maker was not recognizing the blade was installed at all. Finally, after a short break I had to take because I would’ve lost it, the blade was recognized on its own. I didn’t do anything to it. The first part of the project that requires the use of a fine point pen worked without error but when it came down to cutting, it would only make the same slicing back and forth motion which was deep enough to slice through the grip mat. What a disappointment. I tried using some of the vinyl included in the starter pack to make words and other prints and damaged about 3 sheets just trying to make the project. For something a advertised and pricey, you’d think all the kinks would have been figured out and corrected before product launch. This was my first cricut purchase and will be the last.
