Cute crate, but dangerous metal attachments!!!
Cute crate that came as advertised! The pink is true to color as the picture!
However, beware of the sharp metal attachments on this crate!
Our story: I decided to clean the pink bed that I bought along with this crate yesterday, since I had given my dog a Kong toy filled with peanut butter. I just wanted to clean the peanut butter off her bed. When I removed the pink bed and looked under it, there was what looked like blood stains. Husband and I were completely confused as to why there were blood stains UNDER the bed and not ON the bed. There were also some dried blood on the base of the crate (the base plate comes with the crate). We smelled it to check if it was maybe peanut butter, but it definitely smelled like blood and looked like it. I immediately called my mom to ask if she notices our dog having cuts anywhere on her body (my mom watched our dog last night for us as we are busy moving into our new home and have a toddler). She said she noticed our dog, Lulu (8 lb toy poodle), has been constantly licking her paws. We immediately suspected that she must have caught her paws onto the cage somewhere and also scratched her bed to become lifted up and bled onto it like that. But we wondered what could have made her bleed so much? My husband started to inspect the crate even more carefully, and bam! Our answer was found. It was obvious that she has gotten cut by the sharp metal (there are 6 separate metal attachments about 1 inch long) on the crate. If you feel them, they are VERY sharp. Definitely sharp enough to cause any dog to rub their paws on it to bleed. I'm not saying this is dangerous for all dogs, because certainly not all dogs will scratch the cage like mine does, but if your dog is new to crate training and tends to scratch the crate, then this is quite dangerous. We immediately wrapped the metals with duct tape. Hope this helps to warn future buyers and maybe hopefully this company will fix this problem. I will try to contact them. Thanks for reading my review, and again, I hope this helps.
