Stainless steel has a very mild attraction to magnets. These are very strongly attracted. (direct comparison to stainless steel clip was made) They are steel, not stainless steel. These will rust as fast as any other steel clip. Evidently, I was ripped off because my shipment does not look like the product others have received. I received 6 cheap steel bargain junk carabiners wrapped in packing tape.
