I am disappointed. I wanted and expected a very basic machine that does straight stitches and zig zag. The stitch selector does not let me get into the zig zag stitches. I checked the owner's manual and followed the instructions but no success. There is no customer service contact info. The other thing I do not like, the holder for the thread spool is too short, it sticks out of the back almost horizontal and when you get going sewing it has popped off a few times. On the "like" side: this is a nifty little light machine, aside from the above I love it. My other machine had died after 40+ years in the middle of a project. It was four times as heavy and bulky as this new one and often quite temperamental. Now if someone could just explain to me how to move the stitch selector to the zigzag I would give it 4 stars. Add a longer spool rod that would be 5 stars. UPDATE: I received the replacement machine. And guess what? It is defective as well. This time the reverse does not reverse. The "switch" does NOTHING. So I called Amazon customer service and ended up with a very fast talking agent, am returning this machine as well and I cannot give it any stars at all. My recommendation: do not waste your money on this one.
