This rating reflects my opinion of Intuit. Turbotax is an ok but not great product. In my opinion Intuit's tactics are very aggressive. I have been buying Intuit products i.e. Turbotax/Quicken for over 15 years. I have rarely seen any product improvements e.g. in the case of turbotax a better handling of K-1 reporting and sales of partnership units or in Quicken't case, smoother downloads (in the latest version you can't even stop a download and need to wait for as long as it takes to stop automatically). Instead intuit prefers to get more cross-selling opportunities incorporated into the software and dig its claws as deep as possible into personal data e.g. the latest Quicken versions require registration with Intuit, otherwise the software that you purchased won't work. Here, they decided to frankly downgrade the Deluxe version but still charge the same price while forcing people to use a higher priced version i.e. premier with no tangible benefits to the customer. I could have taken a straight forward price increase but not this kind of slimy sales tactics. I wonder how long a company can survive being hated by its customers. Despicable Intuit! I will try to drop them next year at any cost. This is the best instrument of protest that I have as a customer i.e. let them feel the pain of their aggressive behavior!
