The Added BioPerine (Piperine) Can Cause Problems
This product uses Piperine, what they call BioPerine, to increase the bioavailability of the CoQ10. Piperine is a black pepper extract and can irritate your stomach if you're sensitive to spicy foods. My biggest concern with the added piperine is that its ability to increase bioavailability isn't limited to just CoQ10. You caution if you take prescription medications as the piperine may also increase the bioavailability of those as well. Piperine also inhibits some enzymes needed for metabolism of certain drugs. This can lead to dangerously high levels of those drugs. Use caution taking this if you're also taking prescription medications.
