My whole Family of Four love Hydro Flask!! We have many different colors and sizes. A HUGE down fall is that the basic standard lids and the wide mouth lids grew a black color MOLD!! I soaked the lids in vinegar for 3 days changing out the vinegar 2 times a day!!! I managed to take out that plastic seal (not easy to do) to discover even more MOLD!! We have hand washed them after every use and left them to dry on the dish rack and for some reason MOLD was still a factor. Please be careful!!! As soon as I noticed it I acted on it quickly . I have two little ones and they are very active and used these flask daily it make me sick to think every evening I washed these lids and trusted I was doing something good for my boys having them drink filtered water rather than all kinds of store bought items. I'm so mad at myself for allowing my children to use them. I didn't know their was mold, once I read up on black mold I knew I just had to throw the lids out!! I don't want to buy anymore lids, as of right now we are using that Saran wrap with a rubber band no it's not leak prof. I just bought some Glad Press'n Seal so maybe that would work a little better. Again Not leak prof. I don't know if this is an on going issue but just becareful and inspect your lids daily. My husband did email the Hydro Flask company asking if this was an ongoing issue. The problem is I didn't take any pics of the lids and I did throw them out, but really who is going to keep black mold and ship it back? Plus I didn't want my kids to get a hold of the lids and use them. Either way I don't expect anything to be done about it for me and I am not asking for anything except for everyone to be cautious for your own self and any loved ones that may be using the lids. Against the FLASK are AWERSOME the lids not so much. I am attaching a pic of the many varieties that we used, this doesn't even account for the ones we gave away as gifts.
