Ok, I gave this a good solid try and I just can't recommend it. So many of the reviews just say "it doesn't work" without going into WHY it doesn't work. I'll tell you why: The mat is too flexible. Please note I did not say flimsy, because it is not that. It is well built, but at the joints between the pipes and the mat there needs to be some serious rigidity going out for at least 6 inches and this mat has none. Unless your hoses are 100% perfectly positioned, the mat will flex and kink and subsequently choke off your water flow to both the heating area (the worst flow and pretty much negligible) and the bypass area (about 50% less when compared to not having this thing installed at all.) Another thing I did not like about this mat is that it shrinks up when filled with water. When laid flat before filling it measured exactly what the package said it would (about 47 3/4" square.) As soon as you fill it with water it shrinks to somewhere around 47" by 40". The packaging makes no mention of this at all. Also, it would have been nice to have some points to anchor it down from. Maybe some metal grommets somewhere or something. All in all, very disappointing.
