I got this weighing scale back in January of 2014 and it worked great until this morning. I stepped on it a bit to move it from my way and then I hear a big thud. Out of nowhere the scale cracked and the bottom and top of it broke all of a sudden with shards of glass over the the bathroom !! I was first confused as to what had happened. I cannot think of a possible reason why this would happen or whether anyone else using this scale has experienced before. The scale has been in the same location (in our bathroom ) and I have been using it probably once or twice a week. Agreed that it has been almost two and a half years since we have been using it but I would not expect it to disintegrate in this fashion. Being a weighing scale I would tend to use it barefoot when using it and that could be potentially dangerous situation.
