If I could give this product less than one star I probably would. I installed this item on my gas trimmer exactly as shown in the manual. I have an older Homelite SX-135 and the shaft appeared compatible with the Orbitrim. Once I got everything installed I fired up the trimmer. I had to give it aq few tugs that were harder than with the string trimmer but eventually got the trimmer running. Into the run I could tell that the trimmer motor was doing everything it could to stay running. Not sure if this was a weight issue of the Orbitrim or just the way it is balances. I was able to cut some grass with it but was really not impressed with it performance, especially near my fence and along side the house, where it left grass standing. Also did not work well with tall grass over 6" in height. Shut the trimmer off as I usually do and realized that It just kept rotating with the motor on. Eventually it shut down. Took of the Orbitrim to examine it and see if it was not on properly, etc. Noticed that the internal plastic that meets up with the trimmer nut was all chewed up. Looks like it was more from the friction and heat. My fear was if I kept running it either two things would have happened. Either the plastic would have melted down enough where the Orbitrim would just stop rotating or the bolt would loosen and the Orbitrim would take off like a flying saucer and kill somebody. I contacted the 800 number and spoke with an operator who was apparently also the product support person. I explained to her what happened and after she agreed that I installed the part correctly that it must be defective. I explained to her that I was reviewing the item for Amazon when she asked where I purchased it. She told me that I would have to return it to Amazon for a replacement. I explained to her that that was not possible and further added that if this was a defect wouldn't she want the part back to see what went wrong? She was of no real help. After I got my trimmer back to the old string attachment it started up but I noticed that it was running different and from the sounds of it may have sustained damage from the Orbitrim attachment. I would not at all recommend this product until they perfect it or give better instructions and hardware for all types of trimmers.
