I've had this Series 7 shaver for a couple of years which replaced another series 7 that lasted for many years. Using the Braun cleaner, they always looked like new. About a month after installing this new cleaner, I noticed that the shell of the shaver is swelling and that parts of it are turning green. In cleaning it up, the wrinkled surface in the picture is a plastic coating that has been eaten off. The green spots are pitted, material has been eaten away. The latch mechanism is suddenly noisy. Other people seem to have success, maybe I just got a bad batch. I've wanted to save money on Braun refills for at least 13 years. If I have to replace the shaver because of it, did I really save money?
