I was disappointed that it wasn't authentic Japanese Miso but product of China. The package misled me. It says SHINSHU ICHI MISO on the package, so I thought it was Japanese product because Shinshu specifies a particular area of middle in Japan and famous for traditional soybean paste. Also "ichi" and "miso" in Japanese means "one" and "soybean paste". That's why I misunderstood it was product of Japan. It was my fault I couldn't find that it was indicated "product of China" in the corner of the package, though... The taste of it is regular white soybean paste but I think it is different from "Shinshu miso". I am so sad because I was looking for Japanese authentic MIso. In addition, it was not eligible to return...very sad.
