Great idea, poor execution
8K and VRR are the future of video in the home between new consoles and PC gaming. This product the 960H supports 8K and VRR but it seems like it was a bare minimum in support at best. In this day and age with devices like the LG CX OLED's supporting almost every resolution and more and more people using PCs like consoles you would think the engineers would understand how this product may be use and accommodate the consumer. Even in pass through mode this device will not allow resolutions supported by both devices with this in between, and you cannot even force those resolutions. Specifically this devices only supports 120hz in select resolutions, of course it does support it in 4k and 1080p but anything in between and below only supports 60hz at best. Also since the XBOX outputs as PC resolutions it does not even identify 1440p as an option only through a PC as a 4kx2k signal and only at 60hz, trying to force 120hz at that res errors video and will not output. I was hoping this would be a very good switch for all my devices and new consoles but alas I had to return it. The nice thing is during the testing process I did uncover the $40.00 Rooful switch I bought years ago not only allowed pass through but enabled VRR, 1440p, and 120HZ up to 4K when direct connected to my CX vs my current Onkyo receiver. So a $39.99 device with a rated limitation of 4K@60hz solved a problem better than a $649.99 device that was designed to do what I needed up to 8K. Also this devices does not have biamp capabilities even though it has dolby height and options which seems like a huge oversight,
