The approval process for this card is absolutely absurd and it is not disclosed before applying! It is being improperly marketed misleading consumers to feel like you will get an instant approval! BE AWARE that even with a credit score of over 840 the application process will take over 3 WEEKS before you receive their decision due to the supposed necessary verification process that Chase (the issuing card bank) has put in place even after they pull your credit report, which they claim is for your own protection.Oh, and by the way, their using a third party OVERSEAS call center with folks that are difficult to understand for the process, claiming to be from Chase's fraud department! And that timeline is assuming that you don't get additional letters from them stating that the validation documents you fax into them to expedite the process (they claim weren't legible) and therefore you're back at the starting gate! ;-( We all know that anyone with a credit score over "840" can walk into any store and get a card issued within 60 seconds. COME ON AMAZON either streamline the process or choose another card issuer that doesn't put your valued prime members through this kind of ridiculousness! After being a prime member for years I have finally decided to take the plunge and stop being discriminated against by not getting my additional 5% for all my orders annually by applying for your AMAZON PRIME VISA card with the understanding that issuance of this card becomes proverbial "Golden handcuffs" for being a prime member in the future to continue to enjoy that 5% discount. However had I known about this cumbersome process prior to applying, IT'S JUST NOT WORTH IT! I wonder after they get their "legible" required documentation what the next challenge to get this card issued will be? I'll keep you posted... I'm already about to the point to tell BOTH CHASE and AMAZON what to do with their precious card AND PRIME MEMBERSHIP!
