I love my current Kitchenaid, and I expected the same from this one. I ordered it and it was missing the spring on the beater shaft. Amazon sent a replacement in the same color, and the spring was missing from that one, too. After a lengthy "chat" with Amazon, the person decided that perhaps all were defective; at any rate, they couldn't guarantee that all mixers in this color didn't have the same missing part. Frustrating. I expect more from Kitchenaid. I bought my current one in 1988 and it's still working. I planned on getting a color and passing this one on to my daughter. It's disappointing that I can't even use this one new. And the replacement is also problematic. It makes me worry about what is wrong or defective in the manufacturing that I cannot see.
