After going to look at several different bassinet and mini crib options, we finally decided on this as a co-sleeping solution for our second. Seemed like a well made, solid piece that neither our dog or 4 year old could tip over. Package arrived in good shape (very heavy, as other reviewers have noted). I was able to put it together mostly by myself well into the last trimester. I was disappointed when I put the mattress in and found that there is a very noticeable ridge under the mattress where the velcro covering for the board below is located, it seems like this would wake up a baby. Then, when I took the sheet off the mattress pad to wash it we discovered a long dark hair and what appears to be dirt sewn into the INSIDE of the mattress. Not sure what to do at this point. We had such high hopes for this product I crushed and discarded all the packing materials as I went, so it would be a real pain to send it back, but I no longer have much faith in the manufacturing process for this item. What else is in there that I can't see that my baby will be breathing in? I'm attempting to contact Halo, will update when I receive a response. Update: Received a response from Halo very quickly about mattress pad, saying they would be sending a new one as long as we destroyed the old one. Unfortunately we had just found a second problem: When I went to adjust the level of the bassinet, I noticed that the ring you tighten to adjust the height had a large crack in it. Keep in mind we hadn't even used this part, and had the bassinet for less than 24 hours at this point. I responded to Halo telling them about the cracked part, but have not heard back. Halo says to contact them instead of the seller with these issues, but now I am stuck with an unusable bassinet just a few weeks before my due date. We chose this item to use of the first weeks following delivery, now it looks like it won't be useable when we come home from the hospital, and we will have to find and purchase something else on short notice. Second Update: Halo never responded to my second email about the broken ring adjustment. I think this was a great concept, but for what they are charging they should not have cut so many corners during construction. In addition, they clearly don't stand by their product, since they have not bothered to reply about this. Although Halo asks that you contact them directly if there are issues with the product, by not responding they have left us with no choice to deal with this through Amazon instead.
