Unadulterated Amateur Rubbish minus one star
As one born and bred in Ireland this book infuriated and angered me. This book is the pathetic effort by some idiot who has visited Ireland on some irish-american tour, and thinks she knows all about Ireland. The stereotypes, the quaint village, the total mess she gets into with her timelines. The characters are not even skin deep, it is depressing and one of the worst "stuff" I have had the misfortune to read. I say "stuff" as it is an affront to any good writer to call this a book.
The heroine arrives in Ireland, where it never rains the weather appears to be perfect, it is based on the west coast of Ireland for heavens sake, a place where you wake up to sunshine and clear skies and three hours later its raining and there is a force 6 wind blowing. She goes snorkelling and swims for hours, in the North Atlantic Ocean! even her old Irish Granny has a wet-suit. Even a dog with apparent supernatual powers.
Please do not even consider reading this twaddle.
The story could just as well have been written in the Bahamas. In fact just changing some of the weird supernatural Irish hogwash and made it Caribbean juju, would have made the book more plausible.
This lady should be appologising to any Real Irishman or woman for daring to write such gob ite about Ireland.
Saints preserve us from Yanks who think they know all about their "auld country" . They (the saints) must be rolling in their graves in horror and fury.
