As you can see from my pictures it is folded up so it will probably never lay flat if that is important to you. More importantly as you can also see when i attempted to unfold the mat the backing was stuck together and came apart. Will this compromise the integrity of the waterproofing? Only time will tell. I do like the front side of this mat and i think with small leaks or drips this will do fine. I cut it up to use on my refrigerator's water dispenser tray. It matched our black stainless steel appliance well.
