I used to be very happy with this device, I used it for my child with the Kindle Free Time subscription, which gives access to thousands of child and age appropriate apps, games, videos and books. When my child was running out of space, there was always the simple option of going into section "Device/Storage", figure out, which apps my child used and after talking together about what she still wants to use and what she doesn't, delete all no more played with apps. But no more, that was too easy for all of us and saved too much time! Newest update changed all that. It gave a child its own profile and disabled the ability of a parent to manage storage for the child. With Kindle Free Time subscriptions, it "magically" eats up space and it isn't visible. What happens is, all you see is your own used space and some physical space the child used, but not what the Kindle Free Time app is eating. So it happens that on my device there is 2 GB used in my own profile, 1 GB used in child's profile, but "magically" the whole devices' other storage, 14 GB, are taken. What is causing it? Invisible consumption of Kindle Free Time. And when this happens, which means my child is running out of space, what to do? You get arrogantly told by Mayday Rep that it IS THE WAY IT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK! The only way to delete unwanted apps/books in Kindle Free Time is I as a parent have to go into my child's profile and scroll down and manually delete all those things. But mind you, there are THOUSANDS of them on display. I don't know how about you dear Amazon software development team members, but I as a parent don't have time for that! FIX IT BACK!!!! I've spent now hours trying to explain this to your Mayday workers, but none of them wants to understand, that this is unacceptable.
