This item (the Chafon CF-UPS018 346WH) arrived very quickly after I ordered it. I have only been using it for a few days, but I will post my experiences with it so far. After taking it out of the box and plugging it in it sparked. I took it to three different wall outlets and it sparked at all three when plugging it in. It was not a major spark, just a small one, and I don't know if that is a problem. I also bought a competitors product and it did not spark when I plugged it in - but I had to return that UPS because the cooling fan was so noisy it was unbearable. This UPS, on the other hand, is quiet, very quiet...I'm not sure if the fan has ever turned on since I have had it...and was wondering if it even had a cooling fan. I discharged the battery as per instructions from the manual and then recharged fully from the AC wall outlet. The case became slightly warm to the touch during discharge and recharge (normal, I am sure) but no more than my cell phone and the case quickly went back to being cold when the charging was complete. I connected it to a 60" LCD TV, cable box and wireless headphone set, and it ran that setup for over 2 1/2 hours before the display started blinking below 5.00%. Impressive, as the old lead battery based UPS (900W) it had been connected to only lasted 20 minutes. I then tested how fast it would switch over to battery operation if the power went out. The switch over was instantaneous...and no annoying "beeb". The only anomaly I have encountered so far is that the red AC charging light stays on (red) long after the display reads 100.00% charged. I don't know why that is but eventually it turns back to green if you disconnect all the things from it and let it recharge. I am thinking of getting another one as I am truly impressed with its light weight and lasting ability compared to my other (old style) UPS's. Also, I like ability of easy portability, you can use it outdoors, indoors just about anywhere. They only advise that you keep it away from water or high humidity environments. UPDATE: I bought another one (in orange) tested it out and it is working very well. If you plug it into the wall first and then into the UPS it does not spark (or it does not seem to spark). Because of that I ordered two more in the grey and am getting rid of my old Cyberpower and APC (heavy as brick) units. I just love their (Chafon) lightweight and lasting ability. Also, I just read that you can replace the batteries (which I didn't know) so that is an added plus. Therefore, I am also changing my rating from four stars to five stars and will keep it at 5 stars unless the new units (that have not yet arrived) show problems. This review was not influenced by Chafon as all units were purchased on my dime and none given by Chafon. They just have a really neat product here. Update: (10/07/18) Of the five units I purchased three have already failed completely, the last of the three stopped working today. Just went dead. Changing my star rating to two stars from four. Update (12/4/18) Unable to change batteries. Very disappointed with these units. Lowered rating to one star. Only two left working and one has a bad LED screen. Will discard bad ones and search for more reliable generators.
