The WORST wireless gaming headset I've ever owned. Not even better than cheapy ones.
Seriously JBL... did you not watch a single YouTube review before making these over priced headphones? I don't mind paying so much as long as I get a very good quality headset... these are not that.
First off, they aren't for anyone with a large head. So if you have anywhere near a size 8 like me just forget it. They used clear plastic instead of metal for the headband which will not hold up over time. There's polished plastic on the sides which shows finger prints. Actually most of the construction is plastic. To much RGB to kill the battery. The ear cups are very small so larger ears will not feel good over time of wearing them. The mic feels cheap and can't be removed. The chat mixer button does not have a catch point to tell you when it's between both evenly.
As far as function goes, it needed a firmware error out of the box and started by giving me an error when plugging it in for the update. Then after it was plugged in it told me I need to have it paired with the dongle and on. But plugging it in turned it off every time. Then trying to turn it on after I unplugged it the thing wouldn't pair again to get rid of the message. After I finally got it hooked back up it made me do ANOTHER firmware update. Followed by needing it plugged in again and this time not even finding the headset while being plugged in. Come to find out the USB-C connector can only be hooked to it one way for it to work. It then did the same error and ran me through the same issues again..
This time I skipped the update since it wouldn't work just to at least hear the sound from them. Well they sound like crap. I had the volume dial all the way up and the sound on my PC at 100 and they're at about what 60% would be on my Logitech or Cloud Flights. You can barely tell a difference between the surround sound mode and normal stereo mode.
Sorry, JBL... but you did a HORRIBLE job making a gaming headset and should stay out of this market. This headset isn't even worth what I could buy a cheap wired one for. It's poorly made, functions poorly, and sounds terrible. Either go back to the drawing board and watch some YouTube reviews to see what gamers really want in a headset or cancel the whole line and give up. I honestly will NEVER buy another JBL product again after this experience.
If you don't care on price and want a good wireless headset and have a small head, buy Corsairs. If you want one for a big head get Logitech. If you want the best sound for around this cost, buy a gaming amp, mod mic, and the 80 dollar philips headphones here on Amazon. Honestly for the money the Philips/Modmic/Sennheiser amp setup is the best gaming sound I've ever had. But DO NOT waste your money on these.
