I bought these sandals at the end of the summer and tried them on- they fit great! I was so excited to have nice sandals with good arch support for the following summer. I took a trip to Florida and brought these with me- you can see in the photo of the bottom of the shoe- never worn!!- I put them on and walked around my hotel room for about 3 minutes when all of a sudden they kept coming unclasped. When I inspected them more closely I saw that the metal had actually SPLIT!!!! I couldn't believe a product with such reputation for quality would break so easily. I contacted both Amazon and the seller- then Birkenstock directly- which they told me they are not sellers on Amazon- so these are knock offs or the person selling bought them in bulk- I got the run around- Amazon says contact seller; and seller says contact Amazon- Birkenstock says not their product or sale. SO- finally Amazon was able to allow me to send them back- BUT I had to pay a restocking fee of $30. DO NOT PURCHASE THESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
